BALTER BEER

Challenge.

Balter was founded in 2016 by a group of childhood friends including professional surfers Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson. Guided by a belief that good beer is for everyone, they wanted to create a world-class beer supported by a brand that didn’t take itself too seriously.

In December, 2019 Sequel PR prepared and managed the announcement of Balter Brewing partnering with Carlton & United Breweries.

Balter is a fun, irreverent brand and this corporate announcement needed to ensure Balter’s authenticity and key messaging wasn’t lost.

Solution.

Sequel PR tailored supporting material including a video news release, FAQs and audio grabs for radio to suit the culture and brand.

Coverage.

The announcement ran across all major national titles including The Australian, Australian Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and local news including The Gold Coast Bulletin.  TV news networks including Nine and Seven picked up the video news release and ran it on local 4pm and 6pm bulletins.  All major online news networks ran the story and all the drinks and retail verticals from The Shout to The Crafty Pint carried news of the partnership.
