Melissa Watter - Director
Melissa Watter (formerly Toomey) is a well-respected media identity who spent well over a decade in senior roles in metropolitan newspapers, radio and television (with both the Ten and Seven networks). During her years in journalism, Melissa spent most of her time reporting on politics – local, State and Federal. At various times she held key rounds such as health; finance; rural; and legal affairs.
Moving into the public relations (PR) arena in 2000, she has maintained a vast network of current media industry contacts and established relationships with key media decision-makers locally, nationally and internationally.
She has extensive public relations and crisis management experience and has managed a number of challenging client briefs including fuelling the pro-Ethanol debate at a national level and devising and implementing major public education campaigns in areas such as health and the environment. Melissa has designed a thorough and extensive media training module that has taught some of Australia’s top executives how to manage an interview situation.
She has also assisted individuals to improve their performance in terms of public speaking, speech writing and effective Board communication.
A sought-after MC, panel and workshop facilitator, Melissa regularly provides these services to clients at in-house or public events.
